About this event

Join us to celebrate NAIDOC Week. Take a walk along the Wulaba track, enjoy the remnant bushland in Glades Bay Reserve and be on the lookout for bush tucker plants as you are guided through the bust to the shores of the Parramatta River. Learn about the local indigenous history of the Wallumedegal people, understand their co-existence within the surrounding area of Glades Bay and visit the aboriginal rock carving site.  

Date: Saturday 14 November 2020

Time: Session 2 - 12.00pm – 1.30am (arrive 11.45am).

Location: Glades Bay Reserve.

Address: York St, Gladesville.

Parking: Parking available in surrounding local streets.

Meeting Point: On the grass verge at the top of the reserve, near the corner of York St and Linsley St, Gladesville.

Suitability:

  • Walk distance is approximately 2km so a basic level of fitness and mobility is required.
  • This walk is conducted on a combination of paths and bushtracks and may include some occasional uneven ground, grass surfaces, steep slopes and steps.
  • This walk is not stroller/pram friendly.
  • All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
  • No dogs or pets.
  • No smoking.
  • This walk will start and finish in the same location. 

Equipment: Please bring your own water, water bottle, sunscreen and insect repellant.

Clothing: Must be suitable for physical activity. Hats must be worn. Bring a jacket in the event of inclement weather.

Footwear: Shoes must be enclosed, have a non-slip sole and suitable for physical activity. Thongs, sandals and open toed shoes are not permitted.

Cost: FREE – Active In Ryde program

Bookings: Essential. Book early as places are strictly limited.
