BSSA Build-a-Birdbox Workshop
Event Information
About this Event
Join the Biology Society of South Australia in a guided workshop exploring the role of tree hollows and bird boxes in the conservation of Australian fauna and flora. Discover simple ways to help conservation efforts in your local area and learn how to constuct bird boxes which will be used to provide replacement habitat by The Forktree Project and other local landcare groups.
The Forktree Project is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on the work of volunteers with the goal of returning a degraded 133-acre former pastoral property in South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula back to nature.
You will leave with:
• An understanding of the importance of tree hollows and bird boxes in Australian environments
• A simple instruction sheet to guide construction of your own birdbox for your backyard
• Knowledge of ways to get involved and a commitment to aid conservation efforts in your local area!
This event is being held outdoors at the newly refurbished Mawson Corner on the University of Adelaide’s North Terrace campus, right on the corner of Victoria Drive and Frome Road. This event is co-hosted by Ecoversity - the University of Adelaide's sustainablility engagement program.
