About this event

The 10th Annual Walter Lippmann Memorial Oration will be held on Thursday, 17 February 2022 at the Wheeler Centre. Our eminent speaker for this special event will be  The Hon Tony Pagone QC, a former judge of the Federal Court of Australia, who has made a significant contribution to Australian public life during his distinguished legal career.

The Walter Lippmann Memorial Oration is held each year to commemorate the outstanding work of one of ECCV’s founders, Walter Lippmann, who was a strong advocate for multiculturalism and campaigner on issues relating to ethnic communities within Victoria and throughout Australia.

Inaugurated in 2011 by former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser, the oration has provided an opportunity for eminent Australians to reflect on issues relating to Australia’s identity and multiculturalism. Former speakers have included Gillian Triggs, Tim Costello, Julian Burnside, Arnold Zable, Michael Kirby and Marcia Langton.

Register below if you would like to attend. Please ensure to RSVP by Thursday, 3 February 2022.
