Event description

Description

Dear colleagues

You are invited to participate in the 2019 AeRO National Forum, to be held on the 31st of July 2019 in Sydney.

This year's theme is "eResearch - Challenges - Blockers - Planning for Success".

The Australasian eResearch sector is continually evolving and increasingly complex.

Increased focus on collaboration and leveraging existing investments pose countless challenges for all organisations.

Join sector leaders to openly discuss these important issues and foster a cohesive and sustainable future for Australasian eResearch.

The annual AeRO National Forum is a one day event, which attracts senior staff from its members as well as eResearch leads from institutions, NCRIS capabilities, discipline communities, research centres, funding bodies, government and other agencies. Representatives from the Department of Education and Training also attend. At the 2018 Forum, we had over 150 attendees from over 50 organisations, and we expect this year to be even bigger.

We are currently confirming a number of speakers after which we will issue the final agenda for the Forum, via email and the web.

All information about this event, and a link to the registration page, are at http://www.aero.edu.au/forum-2019 where you will also find information about previous Forums, including presentations and other notes.

General Attendee tickets for the event are $250, and $200 for CAUDIT members. AeRO Members are entitled to up to two free tickets.

I’m seeking again to schedule it (9am-5pm) so that it can be a day-trip for most of those from interstate. Following the event, we will hold a brief AGM.

The Forum will kickoff on Tuesday night with a guided tour of the UNSW EPiCentre (Expanded Perception & Interaction) hosted by Visualisation Director Dr Tomasz Bednarz. A limited number of free tickets are available - please email loretta@aero.edu.au to confirm your spot! Ticket allocation will be prioritised for Forum attendees.

Download the Official AeRO Forum 2019 Flyer at http://aero.edu.au/forum-2019/

In the meantime, please reserve the date in your diary, and book your ticket as early as possible to ensure your seat. If you are unable to attend personally we would welcome your nomination of an alternate senior person to represent your organisation.

We look forward to seeing you on the day. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Thank you.

Sam Moskwa
CEO, Australasian eResearch Organisations (AeRO)
