10 years of Opal Low Aromatic Fuel Celebration
Thu. 27 October 2016, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm ACST
This year it is 10 years since Opal fuel first rolled into Alice Springs. This happened on the back of a community campaign and with the support of fuel companies, government and many retailers in the region. It has worked well and 10 years on we have reason to celebrate and highlight this good story.
Please join CAYLUS, Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council, the Warlpiri Youth Development Aboriginal Corporation (WYDAC) and the many other people and agencies that have been a part of this work for a few speeches and some lunch, to note the good work that has happened and the good work that is yet to be done.
Alice Springs launch of Menzies LAF Impact Report
As a part of the event we will launch the Monitoring Trends in the Prevalence of Petrol Sniffing in Selected Australian Aboriginal communities 2011-2014: Final Report from the Menzies School of Health Research. Hard copies of the report will be available and there will be an introduction from one of the authors of the report Professor Peter d'Abbs.
