Organizer of Japanese Tea Ritual Events(Tea ceremony)
Yoshitsugu Nagano is the youngest person to be certified at the highest rank in the Ueda Sōko Tradition of Warrior Tea, a school of chanoyu with a 400-year legacy rooted in Hiroshima. As a regular professor of the tradition, he serves as both a practitioner and educator, preserving its core while exploring new possibilities of expression.Since relocating to New York City in 2019, Nagano has shared the spirituality and aesthetics of chanoyu through public tea gatherings, private ceremonies, educational workshops, and ongoing instruction. He is also the founder and lead organizer of Chanoyu Week NYC, an annual celebration of Japanese tea culture launched in 2022.Blending the meditative depth of Zen with contemporary creativity, Nagano has cultivated a unique approach to tea that bridges past and present, East and West.
