The Cairns Tropical Writers Festival, a biennial event, brings together writers, readers and thinkers of Tropical North Queensland with Australian and internationally revered authors and speakers to share, learn, explore and debate across a wide range of writing genres, forms and content in our theme for 2023, ‘Wild Words in Stormy Times: Stories Matter’.Hosting a vibrant and engaging mix of fiction and non-fiction authors, guest speakers, leaders and entertainers in a full weekend of panels, presentations, performances, book signings, music, slam poetry, comedy, workshops, masterclasses, book clubs, film screenings, catered events and gatherings, the Cairns Tropical Writers Festival offers something for everyone, to feed our literary minds and showcase the distinctive voices of our tropical region.
