TED is a nonprofit organisation devoted to ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’. Their annual TED Conference invites the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak in front of audiences to spread ideas that will change the world. TEDxMelbourne, licensed under the TED umbrella, is a local, self-organised program of events that brings people together to share in a TED-like experience. They produce four ticketed events per year, which include 3-9 speakers delivering 18 minute “TEDxTalks,” live performances, and recorded video to spark deep discussion and connection in small groups. In 2009, they turned to Eventbrite to deliver the best-possible ticketing and registration experience for both the event organisers and attendees. Since then, Eventbrite has helped them:
- Save time with event management tools
- Engage attendees before, during, and after each event
- Track the outcome of marketing campaigns with reporting tools
“Eventbrite allows you to see the uptake rate and engagement with subgroups. I can get details about our community that I can’t get anywhere else” – Jon Yeo, Licensee and Curator, TEDxMelbourne
