The Territory Remembers, Department of Arts and Museums

The Territory Remembers is a program of activities commemorating the Bombing of Darwin and World War II in the Territory.

coordinated by the Northern Territory Government's, Department of Arts and Museums.

The program aims to increase awareness of the Northern Territory’s involvement in WWII, recognise the contribution of Indigenous Australians to the war effort, and preserve and share our rich military history with future generations to create an understanding of how the war shaped the Territory. The program includes community events, memorials, an education program, a history program and a special emphasis on the 75th anniversary bombing of Darwin and defence of Northern Australia.

The special two year program of events will run through 2016, and culminates with the 75th anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin on 19 February 2017.
