LIVIN

Our Vision

Community, connection, hope, and help will replace silence.  “It Ain’t Weak to Speak”. Healthy LIVIN = Healthy Mind.

Our Mission

LIVIN® (Top Livin ABN 46 600 787 513) is a registered charity, non-profit organisation that was founded to wipe out the stigma on mental illness and raise awareness for suicide prevention. LIVIN utilise innovative approaches to remaining relatable to the younger generation through apparel, social media and profiles to change the way society understands, perceives and interprets mental illness. The core of LIVIN’s mission is the mantra “It Ain’t Weak to Speak”, to encourage and inspire people to speak up and seek help. Education is the forms the heart of what we do so that we can  influence generational change through a fresh new approach to mental health.

Why we do it

We want people to own their mental illness and to be empowered by who they are not by what they have. We plan to organise and host annual 24 hour events throughout Australia along with pushing our mantra #itaintweaktospeak. Our ideas behind this are simple. The more people who talk and accept mental illness for what it is, the more comfortable and confident people will feel about seeking help and finding hope. As long as you are speaking you are never alone.

We are developing various programs in different fields to empower and motivate people that “it ain’t weak to speak”. We want to help people share their stories. We want people to own their lived experiences. Stories are an invaluable way of telling someone where you have been and we believe this journey needs to be heard so people find hope when they need it most.

How we do itLIVIN use apparel, events and motivational programs to kickstart the converstaion about mental health and suicide prevention. LIVIN have recently rolled out a stigma reduction and motivational program within a number of schools called the “LIVINWELL” program. LIVIN aim to target the school curriculum’s, sporting codes, universities, VETs, construction/mining and the corporate space. We are firm believers that educating people at a young age is key to the success in changing perceptions on mental health.

LIVIN creates their own infamous 24hour events around healthy LIVIN and are also involved in community events, bringing people together to participate in active living and positive lifestyles. LIVIN have a wealth of professional sports stars and celebrities from around the world supporting, representing and endorsing the charity which will allow the message to spread organically and will positively impact today’s generation. LIVIN believe the key to change is collectively working together with other organisations in the mental health space to combat this growing epidemic and combine forces once-and-for all.

Background

LIVIN was Co-founded by Casey Lyons and Sam Webb in September 2013, in honour of Casey’s best friend and Sam’s good friend Dwayne Lally and other close friends and family of the co-founders who took their own lives after suffering from a mental illness.

LIVIN is all about LIVIN your life at the top and destroying the stigma attached to mental illness. Connecting, supporting and inspiring one another to talk about their feelings, issues and problems because “It Ain’t Weak to Speak”.

“We can save the lives of individuals, if we change the way society understands, perceives and interprets mental illness.” Sam Webb

” For too long mental illness and suicide has been perceived as a weakness, mental illness is no different to other illnesses such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes. We will change this.” Casey Lyons
