BoardConnect

Brisbane-based BoardConnect is Australia’s only non-profit organisation specialising in the support and strengthening of the boards of non-profit organisations.

Improved governance delivers significant outcomes, such as improved organisational effectiveness and stability, protects public investment, and harnesses board members’ energies more effectively. BoardConnect’s founder and director David Fishel has established a reputation throughout Australia for his work in non-profit board development and governance support. He is the author of The Book of the Board.

BoardConnect has been operating since August 2008, initially as a nine-month pilot program under the auspices of consulting firm, Positive Solutions, and with financial support from the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.  BoardConnect has been contracted by Arts Queensland to deliver board support services throughout Queensland and has worked with State Government departments in New South Wales and Victoria on governance development projects.

BoardConnect was established as an independent non-profit entity in December 2010 and is now expanding nationally and into other non-profit fields of activity. With board improvement being seen as the next frontier, both in the corporate and non-profit sectors, the vision for BoardConnect is to be the leading national governance support service to the non-profit sector in Australia.
