How can I cancel or postpone my event?

    If you have to cancel or postpone an event, it's important to communicate with your attendees and issue refunds. Once you've completed these first steps, select the "Cancel" link on the Event Dashboard to cancel your event in the system.

Are there refunded service fees for cancelled events?

    If an event is cancelled, the refund you issue to your ticket buyer will include the entire purchase - the ticket price and any fees.

    If an event is postponed, you are not required to issue a refund if you choose not to.

How can I change my event from live to virtual?

    An alternative to cancelling your event is to livestream it rather than gathering in-person. To do this, you need to change the location of your event from a physical address to online. Here's how to do this:

    1. Click on your event under "Manage events" in your account.
    2. Go to "Basic info" on your Event Dashboard.
    3. Select the pencil icon next to your event location.
    4. Click on the dropdown "Venue" and select "Online event". Follow the steps to create a livestream event page.

    There are a couple of extra steps to take when you change your live event to a virtual event.

    • Make sure to communicate the changes to your attendees.
    • When you change your location from live to online, Eventbrite won't automatically send the link of the livestream to your attendees. You can include the link in your email to attendees or send it out at a later time.
