Screen Australia invites filmmakers to spend two days finding ‘Hope for Film’ with legendary US producer Ted Hope
Screen Australia is proud to announce a two-day workshop with Ted Hope, renowned US independent producer of more than 60 films, including 21 Grams, American Splendor, Happiness, The Ice Storm, In the Bedroom and Martha Marcy May Marlene.
To be held in Sydney, 28–29 August, Ted’s Hope for Film workshop is recommended for producers of any level of experience. The comprehensive program will dig deep into subjects such as deal making, financing, packaging, social media, on set, post-production, sales, distribution and marketing – all essential areas of knowledge for a successful producing career in the 21st century.
Ted Hope has become one of the leading voices in the development of alternative distribution methodologies, and is a very public proponent of the need for producers to have a solid social media strategy embedded in the process of making a film.
Ted is recognised by The Hollywood Reporter and other publications as one of the most influential and powerful people in the US independent film scene. He co-founded and ran the 90s production and sales powerhouse Good Machine, which he and his partners sold to Universal in 2002. He subsequently co-founded the New York production company This is that, which produced 18 features in its eight years, receiving numerous awards, including four Academy Award® Best Screenplay nominations.
Book early as places are limited. Cost is $50.
