Event Details

Join in the nation wide celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in July by coming along to one of the special NAIDOC Week events at the City of Sydney Library. In celebration of NAIDOC Week, the Library presents a series of Aboriginal contemporary short films and documentaries from Black Screen, an initiative of the National Film and Sound Archive Australia. The series features a range of comedy, drama and documentary full of heartfelt personal stories.

Celebrating the NAIDOC Week 2012 theme of Spirit of the Tent Embassy: 40 years on, the City of Sydney Library will display a selection of NAIDOC posters from 1972 to 2012. These beautifully crafted posters are excellent examples of Indigenous art and graphically illustrate the struggles which Aboriginal and Islander groups have faced over the past 40 years.

On display during Library open hours.
