Objectives

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and the governments Web Accessibility National Transition Strategy (NTS) require organisations to make their online information accessible to all.

This non-technical workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to web accessibility with demonstrations of how people with disabilities access the web. It dispels many accessibility myths and explains what is actually required to meet your legal obligations, and the financial and technical benefits that can flow from this.

The workshop also provides a framework to effectively implement and monitor accessibility in your organisation.

Cancellations

All cancellations will incur an administration fee of $12.50. If notification is received 14 calendar days prior to the workshop start date a full refund less administration fee will be provided; Cancellation between 14 and 7 calendar days prior to the workshop will result in a 50% refund less administration fee. Cancellation less than 7 days prior to the workshop, fees will not be refunded. In the event a workshop is cancelled by Vision Australia, a full refund will be provided to all applicants.

The advice and training we provide is based on the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0), and best practice from our extensive knowledge of working with people with disabilities.
