Lullabies aren't the only things you'll need to know to put your baby to sleep.

Babies and young children spend a lot of their time sleeping. Some sleeping arrangements are not safe and can increase the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) or cause serious sleeping accidents. Research has found some important ways to reduce the risk of SIDS and create a safe sleeping environment for babies and young children.

Catherine Cotter - Safe Sleeping Educators from SIDS and Kids ACT - will be at Kippax Library to answer your questions and provide you with useful information. Topics include: unsafe bedding; cots, mattresses and other equipment; risks of smoking; flat spots on baby’s head; co- sleeping.

You are welcome to drop in any time between 11.00 am - 1.30 pm.

Catherine Cotter is a Registered Nurse and Midwife. She works as a SIDS & Kids Safe Sleeping Educator, and does occasional shifts as Community Midwife at Cooma Hospital.
