Event Details

We invite you to join us.

Throughout the history of human civilisation, small groups of people have banded together to foster communal, contemplative living according to a united principle.

We offer you the opportunity to join us for a weekend dedicated to prayer, devotion and meditation in the tradition of monastic worship of the Divine.

Bringing together an eclectic collection of practices from around the world, this weekend seeks to capture the heart of the monastic traditions through prayer, worship, meditative work and dialogue with Spirit.

In the simple setting of the beautiful Stroud Monastery built by the Sisters of St Clare, we hope you’ll join with us for a weekend of seclusion from worldly occupation to immerse body, soul and spirit in devotions from diverse traditions including Vajrayana Buddhism, Roman Catholicism, and Gnostic Christianity, among others.

Please join with us in this uniquely Australian environment for a weekend of ‘holy rest’ in the peaceful, regenerative pace of monastic worship.

Weekend Program includes:

- The meaning of the Sign of the Cross - an exploration.

- ‘Praying with Beads' - a discussion and a workshop.

- Kamalashila meditation based on the work of B. Alan Wallace.

- Shadow work - practices for exploring our psyche.

- The Jesus Prayer - an experiential workshop.

- Eucharistic Mass with Fr. Tim Mansfield+ of the Parish of St Uriel, Sydney.

- ‘The Four Faces of Mysticism’- discussion inspired by Ken Wilber's 'Sex, Ecology and Spirituality'.

Program is subject to change and is completely non-compulsory. Please join us for as much as you are comfortable with.
