A Special Children’s Book Week Author Visit for Young Children

Families with children aged 5 - 7 are welcome to attend.

Meet local author Stephanie Owen Reeder as she reads from some of her internationally renowned books for children, and shares how she goes through the book making process.

 About Stephanie Owen Reeder

Canberra author and illustrator, who has also written about children’s books for nearly 30 years as a reviewer, critic, academic and editor of Reading Time. Stephanie’s recent publications include Lost! A True Tale from the Bush, which was shortlisted for the CBCA Eve Pownall Award 2010, and I’ve Got a Feeling!, which is an  IBBY Outstanding Book for Young People with Disabilities 2011.

 About Children's Book Week

 Each year, libraries from all over Australia spend this week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators to highlight the importance of reading.

This year’s theme is: One World Many Stories

 

  Please take note: 

  • Bookings are essential. Bookings are only nesessary for the children participating in the activitiy.We are unable to accommodate participants who have not made a booking.
  • Places are limited, please contact the library if you wish to amend or cancel your booking.This will enable others to participate in the program. 
  • Age ranges do apply. Children attending this program must be within the specified age range.  The age limit is necessary and made due to required skill level / coordination for the activity.
  • Adult supervision is required for all children attending the program.
  • Please arrive 10 mins early to allow time to check in; this assists the program to run on schedule.
