Warrnambool Campus tree planting day
Wednesday, 5 September 2012 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (EST)
Deakin University’s Office for Sustainability conducts many environmental and sustainability programs, initiatives and events in collaboration with staff, students and local communities. Through these initiatives, and its recent signing of the Talloires Declaration, Deakin clearly demonstrates its commitment to improving and caring for the environment. The University's shared vision is for a community working in harmony with minimal footprint, and aims to foster innovation, learning and accountability for a sustainable future.
To help celebrate National Tree Day, to assist with biodiversity conservation, and contribute to offsetting our own greenhouse gas emissions – part of Deakin’s Sustainability Strategy; staff, students and the local community are invited to come together to plant trees along the Hopkins River shoreline near our Warrnambool Campus. Participants who join us will also enjoy a free BBQ lunch.
