International Student Seminar: Visas and Employment in SA

Are you an international student who is interested in living and working in South Australia? We know that visas, working rights and immigration can be a confusing topic so we invite you to attend this forum to learn about your options and employability in SA.

Who should attend?

To attend this session students should be:

  • Studying at a South Australian university

  • Eligible skilled migrants who want to contribute to the South Australian workforce after graduation

  • Students who are committed to maximising their career opportunities

Who will present?

Immigration SA

As an international student in South Australia, you will already be familiar with everything the State has to offer. But have you considered living here permanently? As the State Government agency responsible for international migration to South Australia, Immigration SA offers pathways to permanent residency for skilled migrants, like you. We work with the Department of Home Affairs to attract eligible skilled migrants to South Australia through state nominated visa programs.

The Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) allows graduates to work in Australia temporarily after they finish their studies. It has two streams: the Graduate Work stream and the Post-Study Work stream.

This session will focus on the Post-Study Work stream which offers extended options for working in Australia to eligible graduates of a higher education degree. Under this stream, successful applicants are granted a visa with a visa period of two, three or four years’ duration, depending on the highest educational qualification they have obtained.

StudyAdelaide

StudyAdelaide has an extensive student engagement program but did you know they’re also working hard on employment and graduate outcomes for international students? This session will tell you about the initiatives underway and how you can get involved to maximise your career opportunities.

How do I secure my attendance?

Please note that there are limited seats available for this forum and only students who have registered online will be able to attend.
