Imagine being able to make a difference to a woman’s life in a developing country with just one consumer choice. I, Roslyn Campbell, a Melbourne-based designer and social entrepreneur, am trying to make this a reality with Tsuno – beautiful, sustainable and socially responsible sanitary pads that won’t break the bank, with 50% of profits going to programs set up to help women in the developing world.
After 12 long months of dedicated designing, sourcing and planning, I am now ready to make my first bulk order! I need your help to raise the $40,000 required to get what I believe to be a truly sustainable social enterprise off the ground. Let’s stick it to the corporate man, and embrace the power that we have as socially conscious consumers!
I will be launching a campaign through Australian crowd funding platform Pozible on Thursday the 13th March 2014. On this night I will be holding a film screening at Cinema Nova in Carlton at 6.30pm to kick it off! There will be a special screening of the documentary I Am A Girl by Australian producer Rebecca Barry and a Q&A session about Tsuno at the end.
It’s taken over 12 months of design, research, blood, sweat and tears (no pun intended), but I’m finally ready to launch and would love for you to join me on the night to celebrate and give the campaign the healthy start it deserves.
All profits from the night will go directly onto the Pozible campaign, and subject to the $40 000 target not being raised after the 60 day campaign, the money will be donated to The International Women's Development Agency. If the target is met, the IWDA will be a recipient of regular donations from Tsuno.
Please email me (Roz) for any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
