Event Details

The security operation around the G20 Leaders' Summit is the largest peace-time security operation that has ever been planned in Australia. Up to 36 Internationally Protected Persons including 26 world leaders, 4000 delegates and 3500 journalists will flock to Brisbane for the Summit, which is the premier forum for global economic decision making.

Due to the nature of the security required, there will be some impacts to Brisbane in the lead-up to and during the Summit.

Superintendent Mark Plath from the G20 Group within the Queensland Police Service, will outline the complexity of the security operation, the key dates, known impacts, as well as discuss the G20 (Safety and Security) Act 2013, Issue Motivated Groups, and the QPS engagement strategy.
