Event Details

Tea Sommelier Sarah Cowell returns exhilarated after 2 months trekking the tea fields of China, to lead you on a journey through the four major tea styles as you've never experienced them before.

Weaving stories from her tea-travels throughout the evening, Sarah will guide you through tastings of beautiful white, green, oolong, black teas in her unique and effervescent style.

Discover how and where tea is grown, how it is harvested and processed - and how particular harvesting and processing methods can produce such immensely different teas.

Learn what makes each tea different, how to taste them and how to brew each style of tea to bring out the best characteristics.

Drawing on her learnings from tea masters in China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, and time cutting her teeth as Vue de Monde's first tea sommelier, Sarah will take you on a sensory journey like no other.

Limited to 8 people, this intimate group session allows for ample opportunity to ask questions and interact with Australia's first female Tea Sommelier.

Held at Storm in a Teacup - Australia's only dedicated Tea Bar showcasing specialty teas from across the world - you will discover this charming venue as you sip and learn about the beautiful world of specialty teas.

"Tea is so much more than just a beverage.."

Teasense is Sarah Cowell, passionate about tea, mindfulness and connection . Five years ago she realised her calling is to share the incredible and largely unknown world of specialty tea and has dedicated herself to a deeper understanding of tea and tea rituals.

Over three trips to China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, Sarah has spent time on tea farms, absorbing tea wisdom from tea masters and finding inspiration from the traditional tea cultures.

Returning to Australia brimming with tea ideas and leaves, Sarah holds tea tastings and learning experiences for organisations, industry and the public.

Sarah's other hat is that of Tea Consultant and speaker. Having worked as Tea Sommelier at Vue de Monde and lived extensively in Asia, Sarah combines her tea knowledge & cultural understanding to assist businesses with tea culture for building relationships in Asia plus trains the hospitality industry in tea service skills.
