Event Details

Salamanca Arts Centre and Mobile States present SDS1

This is football as theatre- stripped back, extracted, frozen, repeated, abstracted.

Former footballer Ahilan Ratnamohan performs SDS1, a thrilling dance-inspired work derived entirely from the physicality of soccer. This physically charged performance has the audience living the surreal, visceral yet poetic experience of the football match.

Drawing on his experience playing semi-professionally in the Netherlands and Germany, and incorporating elements of Dutch street football and 'groundmoves', Ahil creates layers of movement that see the player 'caught' in the performance, rather than in control of it.

Performances will be at the MAC: 23-27 Albert Road Moonah
