The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) has partnered with headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation to develop SAFEMinds: Schools and Families Enhancing Minds.
SAFEMinds combines a targeted range of training and a comprehensive toolkit of resources, to support whole school communities apply the NIP it in the bud! early intervention approach.
This SAFEMinds: In Practice training session is targeted towards local decision makers in secondary settings becoming "Champions" in the use of the NIP it in the bud! early intervention approach and Toolkit resources, including the SAFEMinds Online materials; and how to incorporate SAFEMinds into their school’s existing professional learning and student wellbeing policies and initiatives.
There are limited places available per training day and schools should prioritise who attends from their school. Up to three places per school will be available for secondary school settings.
If more than one person from your school is attending, please register them individually.
Completion of SAFEMinds Online is a prerequisite of attending SAFEMinds: In Practice (access SAFEMinds Online at deecd.tech-savvy.com.au).
Please bring along your SAFEMinds Online Certificate of Completion to this training day.
