Repairing Small Appliances Workshop
Saturday, 6 September 2014 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (AEST)
San Francisco, California, USA
London, United Kingdom
Due to the popularity of the Repairing Small Appliances Workshop we are hosting another workshop earlier on Saturday September 6 from 12.15 - 1.45pm. To book your tickets, follow this link:
The Repairing Small Appliances Workshop is presented by Manly Council as the second in a series of new waste avoidance initiatives. The Workshop, run by qualified staff from the Bower Reuse and Repair Centre, will give participants the skills to repair household appliances and extend their usable life. These include things like toasters, lamps, computers, audio equipment, small household electronics and electronic tools. This will not only save you from having to buy new appliances unnecessarily, but will help reduce the greenhouse gases emitted from landfill and the production of new products.
This workshop is also about re-learning the art of repair. It will help build the skills that have been on the decline for several generations, empowering people to fix things and take pride in their new practical abilities.
Who should attend?
Any Manly Council resident who has ever wished they had the skills to fix things that break around the house, rather than having to go out and buy new appliances or pay someone else to repair them.
What will you get out of the workshop?
- The practical skills to repair your broken household appliances.
- An understanding of the value of repairing items.
- Familiarity with the tools required for the repair of electronic appliances.
- A basic knowledge of electronics.
- The continued use and enjoyment of your appliance.
If you are a Manly Council resident and interested in learning more, book your place in the Workshop now.
