Small Teams Big Impact comes to Australia!
It’s no secret that Rackspace loves startups — in fact, we were one ourselves in 1998. Since those early days we’ve been committed to helping entrepreneurs drive the next generation of innovation with our hosting and Fanatical Support®.
With the open cloud coming to our Sydney data centre, there’s never been an easier time to get a technology startup off the ground. Each and every day, we’re helping startups around the world by taking care of their cloud hosting needs, and letting them focus on what they do best – building disruptive technology.
To continue on our journey of supporting and inspiring the startup community, we are launching the inaugural Small Teams Big Impact: Down Under competition for Australian startups.
Any startups that haven't yet entered can do so right here, before July 26th:
The competition will culminate in a final live pitching contest, where startups and entrepreneurs will be able to meet global tech pundit and Rackspace startup liaison Robert Scoble (@scobleizer), as well as a star-studded guest judging panel. 10 finalists will be selected to present at this final event at Fishburners in Sydney on August 6th, so get your elevator pitch ready!
Starting from 6pm, we will have drinks, food, mingling other startups, investors, leaders in the tech community, and of course the local Rackspace team. At 7pm, the 10 finalists in the Small Teams Big Impact Down Under startup contest will begin their presentations, before the guest judging panel announces a winner! The winner will be the startup with the best idea and potential to make the biggest impact.
Guest Judging Panel:
- Robert Scoble, Startup Liaison Officer, Rackspace; blogger, technical evangelist, and author
- Mick Liubinskas, Co‐Founder, Pollenizer
- Kim Heras, Founder PushStart
- Ruslan Kogan, Founder Kogan
- Chris Ridd, Country Manager, Xero
The winner will receive a round trip ticket from Australia to San Francisco and four nights accommodation for one representative and will have the chance to visit the world famous Silicon Valley.
The winner will also be interviewed in Robert Scoble’s recording studio in San Francisco where they will have the opportunity to talk about their startup. The video interview will be featured on Scoble’s blog, Scobleizer. With his global audience of 335,000 Twitter followers and 500,000 Facebook fans, this is a great launching pad for any ambitious startup.
Numbers are strictly limited so you must RSVP in order to attend!
