ABOUT PYRENEES UNEARTHED
Those who enjoy a journey of the senses to a destination off the mainstream tourist track will love discovering PYRENEES UNEARTHED.
An all-new festival that brings together Wine, Art and Thoroughbred Racing in a spectacular region well removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The inaugural festival will provide plenty to do for families, wine and art lovers, and for the budget savvy with campsites available at the Avoca Racecourse for just $15 per night across the entire ANZAC Day long weekend.
The weekend program includes the Avoca Art Exhibition & Sale, Taltarni Gala Award Ceremony, Mount Mitchell Estate Open Garden, Various Cellar Door Experiences, Avoca Riverside Markets, Avoca Wine Festival, Bonfire Bash, ANZAC Day Dawn Services and the Jayco ANZAC Day Races.

THE AVOCA WINE FESTIVAL
Date: Sunday 24th April, 2016 (ANZAC Day Long weekend)
Time: 11am – 5pm
Location: Avoca Riverflats, Dundas Street, Avoca
Located along the banks of the Avoca River, the festival will have plenty to drink, eat and do with Live Music all day, FREE Kids’ Activities, Petanque Activities, Table Games and much more.
A TASTING TICKET will provide a tasting pass to unearth wines from around fifteen local wineries in your own souvenir Pyrenees Unearthed glass. Prickly Moses craft beer and cider will also be on offer. So bring a picnic blanket or deck chair and unwind at a festival ready to be discovered.

A Tasting Ticket provides excellent value with a souvenir tasting glass to receive your tastings from all wineries at the event.
2) TASTING TICKET + MASTERCLASS incl. Rare Wine Auction: $30pp - by 16 April
($35pp after 16 April)
This year Winemakers from Blue Pyrenees Estate, Dalwhinnie, Sally’s Paddock and Taltarni Vineyards will showcase five glasses of Pyrenees Cabernet Sauvignon from 2012 in the Masterclass to be held in an “unearthed” location just off the river flats.
The Masterclass will be followed by a rare wine auction with in demand aged Pyrenees Cabernet. There are strictly limited numbers for this wine lovers package and tickets must be pre-purchased only.
3) 2 FOR 1 RETURN BUS TICKET (from Ballarat)
Return bus travel from Ballarat for the Avoca Wine Festival is $24pp however the first 100 people will get our 2 for 1 deal, meaning it’s just $6 each way per person.
4) GENERAL ADMISSION for those who prefer to purchase by the glass rather than taste a variety of wines is FREE
5) CHILDREN under 18 are FREE

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The Pyrenees Region is within easy reach of Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo, Halls Gap and the Wimmera. It is an easy 2 hour drive from Melbourne, just over an hour from Bendigo and only 1 hour’s drive from both Ballarat and Halls Gap. Parking for the event is available via High Street, Avoca (follow the signs).
