About this event

Watching sport is an important part of life for many Australians, but for many men, the excitement of watching their favourite team can often be the only way they will raise their heartrate.

The majority of Australian males are inactive. Men are also more likely to suffer certain health problems and face a shorter life expectancy than women. Health promotion rarely focuses specifically on men and it is often difficult to encourage men to take part in programs that support healthy lifestyles.

Professor Hunt will discuss her award-winning work with professional soccer clubs in Europe and how the research has helped men improve their health. She will also present her ongoing research from Scotland that focuses on sport related commercial marketing activities that have promoted unhealthy behaviours, and how interventions could be introduced to combat this.

We look forward to welcoming you to this enlightening lecture.

Please note, due to the venue size, seats are limited. Registration is essential and complimentary. Please ensure you register via the registration link below to secure your place.
