Baqir Khan - Manager Member Led Projects & Volunteering Program
ASRC has a really great integration model for newly arrived Australians in their organisation as well as an employment division that helps people find long term sustainable employment solutions.
Baqir Khan manages the Member Led Projects & Volunteering Program at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) Innovation Hub. He is also an adjunct lecturer at RMIT, where he teaches Language Management in International Organisations. Baqir has conducted research in learning development, culture & information systems, sustainable sourcing, mentoring, leadership and innovation. He also has extensive experience working with local and international NGOs in the community and development sector. He speaks regularly on the issues of empowerment and program innovation.
Matthew Lambelle - CEO
Wise Employment is a NFP that owns and operates 4 socially responsible companies that sees qualified tradespeople and skilled professionals work alongside people who are from disadvantaged backgrounds, that have struggled to sustain employment such as people with a disability, mental illness, long term unemployed, tenants of public housing and refugees.
Matthew Lambelle is passionate about solutions that improves the lives of people, enhances the community, makes commercial sense and adds value. He is an accomplished services sector executive with a flair for leading people, business strategy, change, operations, business development, marketing and communications. With a proven ability to adapt, quickly analyse key business drivers, manage P&L’s, grow multimillion dollar revenues, develop and execute strategies that create value
Phillip Taylor - Director of Productive Aging
National Seniors is an organisation helping older Australians and represent their views on issues such as age discrimination, mature age employment, superannuation, pension increases, health and aged care
Phillip Taylor has researched and written in the field of age and the labour market for 25 years. His interests include the management of labour supply, individual orientations to work and retirement, employer attitudes and practices towards older workers and international developments in public policies aimed at combating age barriers in the labour market and prolonging working life. He also a Professor of Human Resource Management at Federation University Australia as well as adjunct Professor in research at Monash University
Jan Owen - Founder
At FYA we believe young people are not a problem to be helped or solved. In fact we believe just the opposite. Young people are ambitious, creative and capable of rethinking the world and solving tomorrow’s problems today. And can do it all with a social conscience that will let them build a better world in the process
Jan Owen is a a pioneer of the youth sector in Australia, Jan has dedicated most of her working life to social change and encouraging young people to give back and invest their talents in their communities and things they are passionate about. Before joining FYA, Jan was Executive Director of Social Ventures Australia, which aims to increase the impact of the Australian social sector. Prior to this, Jan has contributed to the establishment of many social change organisations in Australia and served on a wide range of Boards.

Yes. These events have a limited capacity and are open the general public, so early registration is essential if you don't want to miss out!
I have not purchased a conference pass, can I still attend these events?
Yes! We love to share the Pause Fest experience to as many people as possible, so these events are open to everyone. However for all our other exciting events, talks, parties and experiences you will need to pick up a ticket to our conference.
Do I need to register for each event I wish to attend?
Yes. The events listed above all have a limited capacity, so prior registration is essential.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Limited parking is available to the rear of Federation Square. Pause Festival highly recommends catching public transport to all events, as we have specifically designed your Pause 2016 event experience around the transport hubs of Melbourne.

What can/can't I bring to the event?
Bring anything you need to engage at the event that you are attending. If you are attending a workshop of any description, be sure to bring your laptop and ensure you have the required software. Do not bring anything that would be inappropriate.
Is my registration/ticket transferable?
Where can I find accommodation?
If you are travelling interstate or internationally to the festival there are many options to choose from in Melbourne CBD. Please remember that February is a very busy period, so book your stay at your earliest convenience.
Can I get a refund?
Pause does not issue an exchange or refund for a lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed ticket. A change in personal circumstances does not entitle a ticket holder to return or exchange a ticket.
