Designcraft is proud to present “Master Modernist Icon”, a retrospective exhibition celebrating the 100th birthday anniversary of Danish furniture designer Hans J. Wegner. To help mark this significant occasion, Designcraft also introduces "Maker+Designer", a parallel exhibit showcasing Australian designers and makers that embody the philosophies as laid out by Hans J. Wegner.  

As the epitome of a furniture designer, and with an unwavering approach to craftsmanship, Wegner still stands as an important model for the 21st Century. This exhibition is a celebration and a homage; a tribute to the old, and to the new.

Exhibitors in the Maker+Designer include Jon GoulderCreative Director of the Furniture Design Studio at the Jam Factory,  multidisciplinary designer Henry Wilson, Niklavs Rubenis lecturer at the Australian National University Furniture Workshop and Kate Stokes Founder of Coco Flip + work from new talent.
