LNL @ Surry Hills: Slide Night - Stories of Personal Journalism
Thursday, 4 April 2013 from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM (AEDT)
Surry Hills, NSW
One of the most difficult things we can do is tell the truth. Meet people who have made a career out of doing just that, and have gotten excruciatingly close to their subjects in the process. Fairfax Crime Reporter Ilya Gridneff travelled on a Hells Angels bikie run to the Central Coast. It didn't end too well. Triple J and former Dateline reporter Sophie McNeil will tell her tales from her recent travels to Syrian refugee camps.
Hosted by Tom Tilley (Triple J’s Hack),Late Night Library's Slide Night features photo essays with live commentary.
Take a walk on the wild side at the City of Sydney Library with a series of late night, adults only events. Following the runaway success of the inaugural Late Night Library program at Surry Hills Library, including an FBI Radio SMAC Award nomination for Best Arts Event and a NSW Public Library Award for programming, Late Night Library has spread it’s wings with a tantalising program of talks, workshops and film screenings.
