About the facilitator
Dr Donnie Maclurcan is an experienced community facilitator, having delivered around 200 presentations & workshops across 10 countries. He has worked with over 200 community projects, worldwide, and is passionate about innovative yet straightforward approaches to social change. His general approach is to build on what's already working, whilst retaining a critical lens by which to make such judgments. Day-to-day, Donnie is the ideas guy at Project Australia, an organisation offering free support to Australian not-for-profits via SI Consulting, helping people find what they need via the Start Good Stuff database, and housing 1000+ tools for building successful projects at Tools4Good. He's a distinguished fellow with the U.K. Schumacher Institute for Sustainable Systems, holds a PhD in technology and international development, and is best known as ‘that guy who ran across Australia as a teenager’, raising $35,000 as an ambassador for The Fred Hollows Foundation.
