Grub's Up: Food of the Future?
Friday, 13 September 2013 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM (ACST)
Could eating insects, called entomophagy, solve the issue of world hunger? Professor Chris Daniels will host two expert panels as they discuss the big questions around food sustainability and other entomological issues.
After the panel discussion, enjoy (or not) an entomological feast by renowned Bistro Dom Chef Duncan Welgemoed. Crunch away on crickets and other tasty invertebrates, like two billion people in the world do every day. Insects are high in protein, low in fat, a great source of vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids as well as being an environmentally friendly food source. Wine, cider and beer will be provided on the night.
This is an 18+ event. ID will be requested upon entry.
