Peter Herse qualified as an optometrist from QIT in 1979 and practiced in Queensland and Kenya. He completed a PhD at the University of Houston and was admitted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He has held academic appointments in optometry schools at the University of Durban-Westville, the University of Auckland and the University of New South Wales. He is currently Academic Director of the Luxottica Institute of Learning. His role is to promote lifelong learning and professional development for optometrists associated with Luxottica.
After graduating from QUT in 1993, Melinda Toomey worked in many varied optometric practices in Queensland, until 2002 when she joined OPSM.In 2005 Melinda became an Eyecare Manager, where she has been involved in developing Optometrist, both from a clinical and communication skills perspective. Melinda has also been a Clinical Instructor at QUT. In 2011, Melinda completed a MBA.Melinda has an interest in Indigenous Eyecare and lead the Clinical set up of the Onevision Clinic in Mount Isa in 2012.In 2013, Melinda joined the Institute of Learning team, as Associate Director
Hirdesh Nair qualified as an optometrist from the University of Auckland 2008 and has practiced in New Zealand and Australia. He has a strong interest in Ocular Therapeutics and contact lens fitting. He is currently working at Luxottica Institute of Learning as an Optometry Learning Consultant. He is currently enrolled in a Masters of Optometry program at UNSW. His role is to promote lifelong learning and professional development for optometrists associated with Luxottica
