Creative Glebe: All Roads Led to Shanghai
- Glebe Library, Glebe NSW
This exhibition is a photographic retrospective of the Chinese New Year Parade from Dragon 2000 to Dragon 2012. The selection of images portrays the vibrant festivities and performers, and intimately captures precious moments not seen unless you are ‘behind the scenes’. An accompanying video showcases the magic and beauty of Sydney’s Chinese New Year Parade, which is now the largest parade outside of China. From the thrill on the face of a child in the audience, to the concentration in a performer’s eyes, special moments are savoured and revealed.
Join us at the official opening of the exhibition as photographer Sharon Hickey takes us through the images that have captured the celebrations of this auspicious event for the past 12 years.
