Taxable payments reporting commences on 1 July 2012 and will require businesses in the building and construction industry to report each year to the ATO, payments that they make to contractors, for Building and Construction services. The session will provide full details and answer your questions on this new reporting requirement - so you're business will measure up to this new taxation obligation. Graham Allen is an experienced Tax Officer with over 12 years experience assisting small business operators, industry associations and tax professionals to understand a range of tax issues. He is a member of the specialist national Education Services team and has been presenting at expos, seminars and workshops on various taxation topics for over ten years.

The speaker for this session is Adele Locke, President of IES:The Lighting Society for Vic/Tas since 2010.  Adele is a lighting professional with a background in custom luminaire manufacturing, sports lighting, architectural specification and large commercial project consultation.  She currently runs a residential design practice, provides lighting workshops and is finalising her term as President.

Cameron Rosen specialises in the development of green homes that are highly energy efficient, constructed with sustainable materials. Cameron has a Building Management Degree from University of New South Wales. Since 1994, he has worked on commercial and residential projects. Cameron has a working knowledge, passion and experience in sustainability. Cameron will provide interesting and inspiring insights into the current state of play in the sustainable home industry and how the industry may unfold into the future. Cameron will identify and address the barriers to entry from an industry and community perspective, detail the importance of working as a team, delve into the opportunities for industry professionals that are unveiling themselves now and opportunities that will be part of the landscape into the future. Cameron encourages questions and wants you to talk about your experiences and ideas.

John Neskudla is the Managing Director of Vacuum Toilets Australia, Managing Director of Marine Plant Systems Pty Ltd and the CEO of Hamann Asia. Through his vehicle, Marine Plant Systems he has sold approximately 1,500 Jets vacuum systems into the marine market since 1993. ohn will give a brief overview of the vacuum toilets and vacuum pumps with Keynote slides, following with a two minute film that delineates clearly how a vacuum toilet system is installed in a building and how it works. John will then give a semi-detailed explanation of the installation at Melbourne Water’s new HQ in the Docklands Digital Harbour project in the Melbourne CBD, with several Keynote slides showing photographs of the installation, with an opportunites for Q & A.

Presented by Steven White, Director, Dyteqta Ltd UK DYTEQTA: The Defective Trap Seal Identification System The Dyteqta-System uses innovative sonar technology to monitor a building’s drainage network and detects any loss in water trap seals, thus preventing sewer gas present in the drainage and sewer system from entering the building and spreading infection and foul smells. The data collected by Dyteqta can be used to aid in targeted renovations or remedial works in hospitals, hotels, apartments and offices alike. Steven White is Director and Project Manager for Dyteqta Australasia Pty Limited. He has been involved with the development of Dyteqta from the outset; sitting on the initial steering committee for the “Trap Seal Identification System”, which was later renamed the “Dyteqta-System”. Since the completion of its research and development at Heriot-Watt University, Steven has been establishing this commercial venture, to bring this technology to market. Steven has also sat on numerous product standards and code committees around the world and has presented technical papers at CIBW062 and ASPE. Steven has over 12 years’ experience in the industry, and his speciality is in drainage venting solutions.
