It’s Truffle season once again, and that means restaurants all across Melbourne will be featuring the ‘black gold’ in special menus and events for the next month.
If you’re slightly more hands on, and want to learn about truffles as well as eat them, you don’t need a pig or a hound to hunt them down, just book yourself in for one of our instructional and interactive Truffle Master Classes.
Hosted by Mr Pasta himself, Daniel Tonin (Pasta Classica) who works with Melbourne’s top hotels, catering companies and chefs, together with Rachel Truscott from Truffle Distributors Australia, and featuring the finest Stonebarn truffles from Pemberton WA, these classes are designed to celebrate what has been described as ‘the diamond of the kitchen’, and educate you in all things truffle-related, from where they grow, and how they are collected, to how to select, prepare, cook and store them at home.
With a maximum of 15 people per class, and held in a number of venues throughout Melbourne, Danny will show you not only how to make his world-class pasta dough, but share with you some of his favourite ways to cook with truffles, offer cooking advice, tastings, and recipes to take home, as well as other ways to use your truffles, including making truffle butter and salt.
Ending the session with pasta truffle dishes cooked by Danny, and featuring matched wines from our friends at Rathdowne Cellars, this is the perfect way to spend a couple of hours, and at only $145 per person, these classes represent excellent value, so grab a friend or a group, and book now!
