Common Roots Events
Common Roots Events, formerly known as Common Roots Festival, was conceived in 2012 as a Blues and Roots festival intended to raise money for the hills community of Montacute to protect a piece land, known as the Montacute Common, from developers.
Each member of the modest Common Roots group all bring with them various backgrounds and life experiences to combine into a core group that looks to bring you an exciting variety of events and festivals.
The Key people involved in Common Roots Events are:
Rich... The fundamental organizer of Common Roots Festival, and has been involved in events and festivals for close to 18yrs. Rich organized Howl the Moon, a pop-up Fringe venue held over the years of 2013-2014 at Stepney. He has also worked in some of the countrys major festivals such as Big Day Out, Soundwave ,Stereosonic, Future Music in various rolls...
Marty... A passionate and motivated organizer and member of many assorted festivals, on both creative and technical sides, Marty has over 10 years of experience under his belt. His knowledge and qualifications have led him to be the Power Manager onsite at Fairbridge festival for the last 3 years. Marty designs and impliments artistic and thoughtfully planned lighting and art installations for a number of festivals, including one in which he takes a lead role in organising from the ground up annually, which has been running since 2011, and prior with Reconnect Festival for 4 years.
Vash... With a keen eye for creativity and a zest for thinking outside the square, Vashti has spent some years now creating Installation Art for both South Australian and interstate Festivals. Vashti, while a relative new-comer to Common Roots Events, has a solid understanding of both back stage and front of house production and brings wih her both an outgoing personality and a can do attitude.
