Kids will work together and alone to create a Choose Your Own Adventure story that we will print and bind, and give to each student at the end of the workshop.
The Sydney Story Factory is a not-for-profit creative writing centre for young people. Trained volunteer tutors offer free help to write stories of all kinds. Programs target marginalised young people, and those from Indigenous and non-English speaking backgrounds, but are open to everyone.
The two hour program will develop students’ use of expressive language and improve their ability to communicate their thoughts and feelings. With an aim to increasing enthusiasm for writing and boosting confidence, thus allowing students to find their own voice.
When & Where
Kids in Philanthropy
Kids In Philanthropy aims to engage children between the ages of 5 and 18 years, and their families, in an annual program of active philanthropy where activity is focused on raising awareness of areas of need in their own city, and providing opportunities for these young people to take a leadership role in addressing these areas of need.
KiP is also for parents, guardians, carers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters or other significant people, who seek to instil in their younger family members the values of giving, of reciprocity, of active compassion.
KiP kids will be involved in workshops and other experiential and educational programs focused on developing social awareness, social conscience and a practice of giving.
