Event Details

A joint event of the ACT Public Library and artsACT for the 2010 Canberra Festival.

You are invited to a special event with the winners of the ACT Book of the Year Award and the ACT Poetry Prize.

Nicholas Drayson, winner of the 2009 ACT Book of the Year Award, will read from his award-winning book A Guide to the Birds of East Africa: A Novel.

2009 ACT Poetry Prize winners, Sarah Holland-Batt (winner of the Judith Wright Prize for a published collection by an Australian poet for her work Aria) and Debbie Lim (winner of the Rosemary Dobson Prize for her poem 'Fossil of Emerging Trilobite'), will read work including their prize-winning poems.

The writers will also be invited to discuss their work and influences.

There will be a chance for a Q&A and book signing following the readings. Copies of published work by the author and poet will be available for purchase and signing.

Refreshments will be served.

Note:  Regretfully, Charlotte Clutterbuck (winner of the David Campbell Prize for her poem 'Why I Still Go to Church') will no longer be able to participate in this event.
