Building Systems for Stronger Foundations in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health
Sunday, 9 September 2012 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (ACST)
Adelaide, South Australia
This workshop will bring together national, state and local-level speakers with expertise across policy, practice and research to identify key population health issues and challenges that must be addressed to create stronger foundations for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. An expert panel will lead a discussion about improving government and Aboriginal community-controlled health systems and research quality to inform policy and practice. Professor Alex Brown, incoming Indigenous Health Theme Leader for the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute and Dr. Gavin Mooney, Health Economist and Honorary Professor at the University of Sydney are two of our confirmed speakers. A facilitated structured group process will provide workshop participants an opportunity to discuss the issues and solutions they see as important. Share your stories and generate recommendations for action.
