2014 Victorian Interfaith Networks Conference

A Grass Roots Conference hosted by Monash Interfaith Gathering & Monash City Council in association with the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV).

The Conference aims to help build the capacity and sustainability of existing multifaith/interfaith networks, bring people up-to-date with current multifaith/interfaith matters, provide networking opportunities, and assist the hosting interfaith network/council to promote its work to the local community.

Date: Sunday, 23th November 2014   Time: 12:00pm - 5:00pm (1:20pm start)

Location: Mulgrave Community Centre - 355 Wellington Road, Mulgrave Victoria (Melway 80 D1)

Parking: Available on site

Registration: To register for the Conference go to: vinc.eventbrite.com.au and click on the registration button (at the top of the page). Please note venue holds a maximum seating of 230 people, so please enrol early to ensure your place.

12:00-1:25pm: Registration & Lunch (lunch closes at 1:15pm).


1:30-2:15pm: Honoured Guests and Keynote Speech

  • Welcome by Mayor of City of Monash
  • Welcome by Victorian Multicultural Commission
  • Keynote Speech: Domestic Violence - Why Faith Communities need to be involved

2:20-3:15pm: Workshops and Planery Sessions on 'Interfaith/Multifaith' Matters:*

  • 1: Finding & writing grants for multifaith/interfaith networks
  • 2: Ideas on what programs to run in your interfaith network
  • 3: Domestic Violence – why faith communities must be involved
  • 4: The role of interfaith networks in a growing multifaith Victoria

3:20-3:45pm: Afternoon Tea


3:50-4:45pm: Repeat of Workshops and Planery Sessions on 'Interfaith/Multifaith' Matters:*

  • 1: Finding & writing grants for multifaith/interfaith networks
  • 2: Ideas on what programs to run in your interfaith network
  • 3: Domestic Violence – why faith communities must be involved
  • 4: The role of interfaith networks in a growing multifaith Victoria

4:50pm-5:00pm: Closing Ceremony


*Workshops & Planery Sessions: Enrolment for workshops and planery sessions can be made on the day of event. Each attendee can enrol in up to two workshops. Please arrive early to ensure you enrol in your preferred sessions. For more information on each workshop click here.
